Accomplishments
Highlights:
• Successful design, project management, installation, and startup of multimillion dollar proprietary dispersions plant in South Korea. The success of this project enabled Cabot to produce new products with projected annual sales of $40-50 million. • Designed new process for producing low defectivity oxide polish. The end results were a supplier of the year award from NEC in Japan, approximately $100 million in sales of the new product, and implementation of the process in all future products. • Formulated product and designed process for producing low Ti/TiN selectivity tungsten polish. Sales of this product are approximately $150 million. The product was patented in the US, Europe, and Asia Pacific. • Designed and managed pilot plant operations of 15 hourly employees and 1 engineer that produced all of Cabot’s experimental product lines and all of Cabot’s customer samples from 1993 to 1997. Sales from the pilot plant totaled more than $2 million. The basic designs and processes are still used today. • Developed dispersion, filtration, and packaging processes for producing Cabot’s original tungsten polish.
