Co-Jo, Inc. v Dale Strand, 226 Mich. App. 108; 572 N.W.2d 251 Lv. Den. (1997)This case was the culmination of the successful defense of a $1,000,000.00 plus alleged negligent destruction of property. This matter featured a five-week trial and the eventual recovery of over $75,000.00 in legal and expert fees and costs.United States of America v. Johnson, 25 F.3d 1335 (1994)United States of America v. Johnson, 986 F.2d 134 (1993)These cases resulted in the successful reversal of the unconstitutional practice of enhancing a sentence with ancillary charges. This case was argued first before a three-justice panel and then before the entire panel (en banc). The U.S. Supreme Court eventually declared the practice unconstitutional in another case.

Responsible for all aspects of investigation, discovery, litigation and appeals of all forms of tort litigation cases, including but not limited to, no-fault, products liability, general negligence, dram shop, dog bite, etc. Primarily, I was responsible for and provided guidance and assistance on all family law, criminal cases, estate planning and probate matters for the firm. My position involved a significant degree of independent initiative including the ability to identify opportunities or issues, to pursue their expeditious resolution, to assist in the development of business and policy initiatives and to render advice on strategic decisions.
