In addition, my role afforded me the opportunity to conduct research and prepare reports for government agencies which have brought rare praise for their professionalism, thoroughness and detail. In several cases, I also caught technical errors in THEIR work product which significantly changed the meaning of their contracts. After I graciously called it to their attention, they expressed appreciation for my keen perception. Finally, I authored highly sensitive letters to government entities requesting ways to resolve ongoing problems of data integrity and inequitable performance standards. This resulted in a greater team effort to find workable solutions among all concerned entities. PERSISTENCE: It serves no useful purpose to invest time and energy into a task if there is no closure. My present position has taught me the extreme importance of follow-through. A portion of my duties entail following up on letters, reports, and other assignments and doing whatever is necessary to get the job done. In one instance, my efforts brought praise from a distinguished co-worker who viewed my efforts as nothing short of miraculous within tight time constraints and numerous technical delays. In another instance, some state government employees - including a lawyer - felt short in their responsibilities, and my persistence brought the situation into check and ultimate resolution. While co-workers may sometimes view me as “being on their case”, they know if I am asked to do the job, they can depend on it being done right the first time.
