JOB HISTORY/DUTIES Therapeutic Rec Director - The Emeralds at Grand Rapids Monarch Healthcare Management Grand Rapids, MN Start Date: 07/2003 End Date: 03/2020 40+ hrs. per week Provide quality resident care by developing therapeutic recreational programs meeting individual needs of residents and assisting them to achieve their optimum level of functioning. To plan, promote & implement social, educational & recreational activities both inside & outside the facility. Complete all documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations. Conducting routine audits to be utilized in the development of procedures. Coordinate recreational activities for veterans, family members, caregivers, and general public, administrative and clinical staff to ensure continuity of care. Provide communication to all residents/staff of the planned programs. Participated in daily morning meeting huddles and family care conference meetings where patient care planning and management occur. Maintain safe & sanitary physical environment. Supervise & coordinate volunteer program. Hire, supervise & evaluate therapeutic rec staff and volunteers as well as onboard into new roles. Manage phone calls in a courteous and timely manner, determines the nature of requests and provides the information desired using privacy rules and established clinic processes Maintain current levels of education & facilitate implementation of new policies and procedures within the facility. Understand and maintain compliance with allocated budget. Maintain monthly schedules for one or more outpatient clinics Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all clinical and administrative staff in determining priorities of activities in support of direct resident care Promote and establish healthy relationships and use professional conduct with residents, families, visitors, supervisors and co-workers.
