Conducted research on FinTech providers in the United States with primary emphasis focused to online lenders and the impact to legacy lending models. Continuing research on Artificial Intelligence in financial services specifically and the broader ramification on the economy and employment. Authored an expert report and served as an expert witness for the defense in a Federal class action suit against HSBC in the United States District Court, Easter District of New York. Conducted a vendor due diligence for the City of Oakland, California for their combined municipal identification card and general purpose reloadable prepaid card for their unbanked workers and citizens. The card vendor (program manager) was a Mexican company and the issuing bank was in the United States. Hosted lunch and dinner meetings for hedge fund managers in 2009 for Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D - IL), Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D - NY), Rep. Gregory Meeks (D - NY), Rep. Paul Kanjorski (D - PA), Reps Barney Frank, (D - MA), Sen. Richard Shelby (R- AL) and Sen. Chris Dodd (D - CT) among others to discuss various legislative initiatives impacting financial institutions. The results have allowed the unit to grow 30% without any staff increases.
