Oakland Military Institute August 2019 - Present U.S. History and Ethnic Studies Teacher Making Waves Academy August 2017 - June 2019 Upper school World History Teacher 10th Grade Level Lead * I teach World History II to sophomores in a college preparatory charter school that serves economically underserved students in Richmond, California. * I served as an advisor for a group of juniors, preparing them for SAT testing and serving as an academic counselor. * I prepared my World History students to compete in both the 2018 and 2019 National History Day Fair with 3 of the eligible groups moving on to compete at the state level. * As grade level lead, I organized collaborative team meetings to discuss effective plans for academic and behavioral interventions. * I am currently the Faculty lead for Saturday Academy.
