Responsible for resolving and escalating issues across all environments, involving both hardware and software issues. Able to use existing diagnostic tools at an advanced level. Responsibilities include responding to alerts, resolving the issues, and escalating to support levels. Also responsible for starting and stopping environments regardless of
platform. Responsible for knowing the location and use of all documentation and making recommendations for improvements to processes and documentation. Responds to requests for operations assistance; this may include shutting down and restarting entire systems, quiescing, varying components off or on line, adjusting priorities, and/or canceling and restarting applications in both the mainframe and distributed environments. Ensures that all processes are completed in a timely manner pertaining to SLA and that all data is transferred to customers accordingly and on time. Makes recommendations to improve efficiency. Proactively analyzes, and controls systems resource utilization to maximize system efficiency and react to user complaints and demands. Understands and knows standard operating and recovery procedures to document system operational requirements and minimize downtime. Communicates professionally with all remote and in-house customers. Recognizes and participates in all Disaster Recovery test and functions.
