Responsibilities
I am currently social services director for a state senator. I assist constituents who are unable to help themselves to resolve problems they are having with state agencies. As a measure of the quality of my work, I received the 2005 Texans Caring for Texans award
Another area of responsibility I have is handling correspondence from prison inmates. I assess the level of their concerns, determine whether the proper actions have been taken by the prison system, and attempt to resolve the issue to the benefit of not only the inmate, but of the state and the prison system as well. Recently, when an inmate's daughter was killed in a car accident, I was able to secure a furlough for him, even though he wasn't eligible.
