Spearheaded a study of shoreline retreat, dune deterioration, and hydrologic changes that contributed to the overall coastline alteration and ecosystem impact within the local environment and Texas shoreline. Supplemental instructor and assistant to senior professors in courses including Calculus I & II, Trigonometry, Chemistry I & II, Geology, Oceanography, and Physics. Selected Accomplishments: * Reduced the cost of beach renourishment on the west end of Galveston from $29M for purchased sand taken from other beaches to only $4M for BUDM after extensive sediment analysis and water quality monitoring, resulting in an 86% savings and reuse of dredged material that would have otherwise been discarded without repurpose. * Identified (point source/non) pollution from storm water runoff and percolation into groundwater and water table. * Integral to a project that achieved 50%+ growth in vegetation anchoring and dune growth over three years. * Established a West End Conservation Management Plan through various field methods and vast data collection to create statistical (STATA) and geographic information system (GIS) models to represent fluctuations over time. * Developed a West End Conservation Plan to generate a 100% ecosystem growth & recovery in flora and fauna. Research and Teaching Assistant, Marine Sciences 2016 Conducted and applied comprehensive research for wetland demarcation and produced various ecosystem conservation management plans. Helped to maintain a Sargassum Early Advisory System (SEAS) team to perform critical research on its influx in the Gulf of Mexico. Developed and acquired approval for new core classes on Coastal Water Policy & Coastal Zone Management by bringing experts together from around the Gulf Coast on groundwater and stormwater treatment plants, subsidence districts, surface water analysis, and desalination efforts, among other water policy experts. Selected Accomplishments: * Discovered that an influx of sargassum, which caused a foul odor and reduced usable beach area on Galveston shoreline, worked as an effective fertilizer, therefore transforming a loss of city funds being used for its daily removal into 100% profit through bailing during decomposition and sale as natural fertilizer. * Authored and secured several RFPs and grants to fund various projects ranging from thousands to tens of thousands of dollars for research and environmental improvement. BOBBYE LEIGH MORGAN, M.S. (PAGE 2 OF 2) Greater Denver Area, CO 713-301-9453 morgan.bobbyeleigh@gmail.com LinkedIn * Created, developed, and taught graduate and senior-level classes resulting in 97% of students scoring 3 or 4 quality points towards their GPA, resulting in A and B scores as well as recruitment offers from various environmental organizations. Overall success of aforementioned classes led to their addition to university core curriculum.
