IT Operations Team Lead Key Accountabilities: * Overseeing a complicated environment of standalone and virtual Unix and Linux servers including design, build and implementation of systems in accordance to requirements and standards. Improve upon existing system designs and automate processes. * Oversee a team of 7 engineers and administrators providing performance reviews quarterly and yearly * Manage and develop a team of Unix administrators and engineers including hiring, mentoring, and performance appraisals. * Ensure team is properly trained and current on Unix product trends and innovations. * Maintain the portfolio management system accurately to reflect the priorities of the team, also acting as a project manager for Unix related projects as needed * Create and adhere to a yearly budget for the team and providing timelines for projects * Manage vendor management for all Unix related vendors. * Oversee creation and maintenance of Unix related roadmaps for hardware and software and strategic direction. * Implement Scrum or Kanban style for project management. * Oversee Unix team responsibilities for SOX controls and audits and ensure Unix team compliance and enforcement of security, audit controls and Unix standards. * Ensure Unix team has proper tools for its administration, monitoring and reporting tasks and that they are being used for providing key metrics and capacity planning * Coordinating critical issue resolution with other teams and then working on RCA. * Assist with providing Unix related technologies for disaster recovery and high availability and ensure they are properly used and tested according to business requirements * Off-hours work (evening, weekend) as required by change control procedures and priorities * Oversee central data center backup architecture including care and maintenance. Senior IT Operations Specialist Typical responsibilities * Configuration and maintenance of the Firm's data backup and system recovery environment based upon IBM Tivoli Storage Manager * Plans and execute major platform software and operating system upgrades and maintenance across a multi-LPAR environment. * Operating system configuration, maintenance and administration for AIX/Linux servers Firm-wide, partly in a virtualized environment * In collaboration with infrastructure architects, AIX/Linux engineers and environment automation analysts, define and execute the infrastructure deployment automation strategies * Automates tasks utilizing SUSE Manager and traditional shell/ansible scripts. * Responsible for providing accurate and timely work estimates * Evaluate and manage customer requests and develop responses for troubleshooting issues including performance issues * Proactively manages system resources to assure maximum system performance and appropriate additional capacity for peak periods and growth. * Configuration and maintenance of Storage Area Network systems (IBM DS8K, DS 4K, XIV and SVC) * Setting up Unix AD Integration through Centrify Previous Employers Organization : M.S.
