I am seeking a position working in labor relations where I can utilize and expand upon my previous experience as a union delegate for the Hospital and Healthcare workers union. Servicing as the union delegate for the 33 members of my department ignited my passion for working with people to address issues and resolve conflicts. I have been successful in filing grievances and winning arbitrations. I actively listen to members complaints and I keep an open mind to other's perspectives in order to obtain a clear understanding of the situation. When striving to resolve issues, I am persistent and wilI search out multiple resources until I arrive at an acceptable solution. Furthermore, I am able to articulate my thoughts and ideas both verbally and in writing. As I juggled my duties as union delegate along with my regular job functions, I learned to adapt to my dual role. I managed the demands of both jobs by effectively prioritizing my responsibilities in order to adequately serve my members and maintain high job performance levels. My participation in the negotiation process has helped me learn how to develop relationships through collaboration and compromise in order to keep both sides communicating to achieve win/win solutions.
