Sterling Engineering-Contract Current Assignment-Dexter Magnetics Elk Grove Village, IL Quality and Compliance Manager- (Contract) - Responsibilities 6/4/18 - Present Manage AS9100:ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 Quality Management Systems, train leadership and employees to understand the importance of quality and to provide strategic input on Dexter's quality direction. The following activities and accomplishments are highlighted: * Manage all aspects of the company's quality initiatives, Internal, Supplier and Customer Audits. * Completed Honeywell Customer Audit with no findings. * Worked directly with Honeywell to define and implement Honeywell's "Zero Defects Plan". * Worked with Parker Hannifin to develop and certify Dexter Internal Source Inspectors. * Revised the incoming inspection process to ensure incoming raw materials specifications are defined and verified prior to acceptance. * Revised the RMA process to have incoming inspection verify customer claims of defects, accept or reject based on verification, and ensure all suspect product is placed on hold and quarantined until re-inspected. * Developed A Corrective and Preventive Action procedure and trained plant personnel in completing the forms as required. Containment, root cause analysis, Corrective Action and follow-up on effectiveness. * Led the team to identify the root cause of a part defect that resulted in a Lockheed Martin complaint. Assisted the team in developing an effective corrective action and closed the SCAR in 10 days. * Completed a TechnipFMC audit with no finding resulting is the expansion of business offered by TechnipFMC from North America to Dexter becoming a global supplier. Bolingbrook, IL Global Customer Quality Manager -Responsibilities 10/11 - 4/16 Work directly with customers, internal support staff and warehouse personnel to monitor and address quality issues and concerns. Work with the warehouse, manufacturing plants, customers and suppliers to ensure a philosophy of "Zero Defects", Zero Errors, and Zero complaints is incorporated into every employee's daily standard work. Batavia, IL Continuous Improvement Manager - Responsibilities 2/10 - 10/11 To oversee all aspects of plant quality and Continuous Improvement for the development and production of Injection and Compression Molded fitments. * Developed and implemented an SQF Quality Management System and served as the Management Representative. * Developed a closed loop corrective and preventive action system to ensure the identification of root cause with a focus on preventive action and mistake proofing. * Attended a Train the Trainer class for Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and instructed two 4 day classes in problem solving tools and techniques to achieve RCFA Trainer status. * Reorganized the QA Lab to eliminate scheduled overtime by $85K per year * Facilitated a data streamline, lean event, which reduced the use of 23 forms down to four forms. this event eliminated data redundancies, improved operator accuracy, reduced supervisor data entry from 1.5 hours to 0.5 hours allowing all more time to focus on being more productive. * Redefined unscheduled downtime to more accurately capture OEE. * Facilitated an RCFA scrap reduction team to identify the top three causes of waste. implemented improvements and reduced scrap from 7.74% to 1.75%. * Worked with Human Resources to implement a Near Miss Safety reporting process, which resulted in daily safety awareness and a focus on accident prevention resulting in a 40% improvement over the previous year * Implemented a level 1 meeting at the supervisor level, utilizing a visual board to identify scrap and downtime by machine, with a focus on action plans and accountabilities, rather than just reporting the previous day's results. * Performed data analysis on product sampling, correlated internal NCRs and customer complaints to implement a more effective and efficient sampling plan for product verification and validation. * Facilitated cross-functional teams to ensure participation of all employees in Lean Events with a focus on developing future leaders. * Attended a 5 day Lean Train the Trainer class to attain "Lean Trainer" Certification.
