A Senior Executive with more than 35 years of progressive general management and C-level leadership experience gained in the government contractor professional services sector (DOD, Federal Civilian). During this time frame, Mr. Krout was responsible for building, growing and managing businesses from small, mid-tier to large services entities while employed by Imagine-One (SVP BD & Strategy), Sabre Systems Inc. (Chief Operating Office, COO), L-3 Communications (Business Unit SVP), Titan Corporation (President & GM), Advanced Communications Systems (SVP) and SEMCOR, Inc. (VP) Responsible for services and solutions associated with Program Management, Engineering, Software Development, Logistics, Statistics and Information Technology. Major customers included Navy (NAVAIR, NAVSEA, SPAWAR), Army (AMCOM, APG), Air Force (Eglin AFB), Drug Enforcement Agency, Defense Logistics Agency, Census Bureau, and the U.S. Naval Academy. Built, managed and led a Business Unit of $180M, 800 professional staff, 30- prime competitively won contracts with expansion to 16 nationwide locations. Extensive Business Development, Capture Planning, Pipeline Management, Proposal Development and Strategic planning experience. Chronological experience, starting with most recent: 08/16/2014 - Present Mr. Krout represents Imagine One as the SVP of Business Development and Strategy. In this capacity, Mr. Krout has overall responsibility for Capture Management & Capture Training, Opportunity Identification and Qualification, Market Research and Analysis, Pipeline Management and Growth, Strategic Partnering, Proposal Team oversite, Customer and Industry Engagements, representing Imagine-One at Industry forums, increase Brand Awareness, Business Planning, and facilitation of Leadership meetings (off-site reviews, pipeline reviews, leads reviews etc.). Mr. Krout also support various proposals and color team reviews. Provide strategic insight to executive leadership in the growth and prosperity of Imagine-One as an Employee Owned Company (ESOP). Developed, implemented, oversees the company business planning process and strategic planning process. Sabre Systems Inc.: Chief Operating Officer (COO), October 2008 to March 2014 - Senior Executive responsible for all operational aspects of the company including Profit & Loss (P&L), Business Development, Strategic Planning, and oversight of the four operational Group Vice Presidents. Major customers include Navy (NAVAIR, NAVSEA, SPAWAR), U.S. Naval Academy, Defense Logistics Agency, Army (CECOM) and Aberdeen Proving Ground, DOJ (DEA), and the DOC (Census Bureau). Core Competencies and Lines of Business include - Information Technology, Engineering, Program Management, Software Development, Logistics and Statistics Services. Other key accomplishments since joining Sabre in October 2008 - Mr. Krout assisted the company CFO with the implementation the company's formal Budgeting and Profit and Loss Process. Also assisted with the implementation of Deltek's Enterprise Planner (EP) for use as the company's Annual Budgeting and Forecasting tool. Hold monthly Profit and Loss reviews with the CFO, Director of Finance and four Group Vice Presidents. Implemented and formalized the company's Strategic Planning Process. Rolled out 2010 - 2014 and subsequent update of the 2012-2016 Sabre Strategic Plan. Hold quarterly Strategic Plan progress reviews with CFO, Director of Finance, Corporate Business Development and four Group Vice Presidents. Mr. Krout also formalized the Sabre internal business development functions to include the establishment of an internal corporate level proposal development center and Virtual Proposal Center (VPC) established a formalized opportunity capture planning development process (exploratory, interest, pursue, bid, and submit phases of opportunity capture). This included formal gate reviews to gain approval to proceed in each phase established a market research function and implemented an opportunity pipeline development process with the implementation of Deltek's GovWin Business Development opportunity tool (now CRM). As Sabre looks to expand externally through M&A, Mr. Krout developed the company's over arching Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and formulation of an internal Acquisition Review Board (ARB) made up of key company senior executives. Implemented with assistance from Legal Council, formal Mentor Protégé program through the SBA with certified SDB 8a Company and worked as a formal JV to bid 8a set-aside business. Company quality standards included CMMI ML-3, ISO-9000:2001, Voice of the Customer six sigma program. Also, in his COO capacity, he met monthly with each of the corporate business operations department heads to review progress, issues or problem areas to be addressed and or mitigated. These Department Heads included Human Resources, Contracts, Information Technology, Finance, Marketing and Communications, Recruiting, and Security. Sabre grew from 65M in 2008 to 82M by the end of 2012. L-3 Communications Command and Control, Systems and Software Division (C2S2): Senior Vice President & GM Ship and Aviation Engineering Business Unit and Senior C2S2 Division Staff position for Strategic Acquisitions, Strategic Planning and Business Development ($1.0B L-3 Division), July 2005 - October 2008 - Prior to joining Sabre Systems, Mr. Krout gained over 3 years of continued senior executive level experience while working for L-3 in the positions outlined above. He had executive level responsibility and oversight of annualized revenues in excess of $180 million, over 800 engineering, management and technical employees, 25 Prime engineering, software development and logistics support contracts at 15 locations nationwide. In this executive capacity he had overall Profit & Loss, Business Development and Strategic Planning responsibility for his business unit, oversaw four direct-report operational Vice Presidents as well as oversight of the Contracts, Human Resources, Security, and Financial Planning & Analysis functions supporting his business unit. Major Lines of Business included Naval Aviation Engineering, Management and Logistics life-cycle support services, Ship and Shore Installation services (NAVSEA & SPAWAR), and other Aviation Markets including Army Aviation (AMCOM), USSOCOM Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Force Protection (ISR) services, OSD (Special Projects), support to the Air Force providing Reliability Centered Maintenance on various aircraft propulsion programs and direct support to the FAA providing R&D on a number of new development programs at the WJHTC. In his role within the L-3 Command, Control, Systems and Software (C2S2) Division Senior Staff position, Mr. Krout was responsible for the overall Strategic Planning, Strategic Acquisitions and Business Development of a $1.0 Billion organization. He oversaw and maintained a business development opportunity pipeline in excess of $10B with opportunities in the exploratory, interest, pursue, bid & submitted phases of the opportunity capture life-cycle. Mr. Krout continued to achieve over 10 percent year-over-year organic growth while at L-3 Communications. Titan Corporation: President and General Manager Ship and Aviation Engineering Business Unit under the Maritime Services Sector, January 2001 - July 2005. Titan was acquired by L-3 July 2005 - He had executive level responsibility and oversight of annualized revenues in excess of $165 million, over 700 engineering, management and technical employees, 25 Prime engineering support contracts at 15 locations nationwide. In this executive capacity he had overall Profit & Loss, Business Development and Strategic Planning responsibility for his business unit, oversaw four direct-report operational Vice Presidents as well as oversight of the Contracts, Human Resources, Security, and Financial Planning & Analysis functions supporting his business unit. Major Lines of Business included Naval Aviation Engineering, Management and Logistics life-cycle support services, Ship and Shore Installation Services (NAVSEA & SPAWAR), and other Aviation Markets including Army Aviation (AMCOM), USSOCOM Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Force Protection (ISR) services, OSD (Special Projects), support to the Air Force providing Reliability Centered Maintenance on various aircraft propulsion programs at Tinker Air Force Base and at Eglin Air Force Base providing Technical, Acquisition and Management Support, and, lastly, direct support to the FAA providing R&D on a number of new development programs at the WJHTC. ACS was acquired by Titan Corporation January 2001 - Mr. Krout had executive level oversight of all of the company's Navy Business which included over $70.0M in annualized revenues, multiple prime and subcontracts, over 500 technical support staff, full Profit and Loss responsibility, Business Development and Strategic Planning and engineering facilities oversight located nationwide: Lexington Park MD, Cherry Point NC, Jacksonville FL, San Diego CA, Point Mugu CA, Ridgecrest CA, Hampton Roads VA, Crystal City VA, Warminster PA, Naval Avionics Center, IN. Lines of business included systems engineering, software development, logistics and program management support services. SEMCOR, Inc. was acquired by ACS December 1998 - Mr. Krout had executive level oversight of all of the company's Navy Aviation Business which included over $60.0M in annualized revenues, multiple prime and subcontracts, over 300 technical support staff, full Profit and Loss responsibility, Business Development and Strategic Planning and engineering facilities oversight located nationwide: Lexington Park MD, Cherry Point NC, Jacksonville FL, San Diego CA, Point Mugu CA, Ridgecrest CA, VA, Crystal City VA, Warminster PA, Naval Avionics Center, IN. Lines of business included systems engineering, software development, logistics and program management support services. Mr. Krout built and grew this business from zero to sixty million dollars during his eighteen year affiliation with SEMCOR, Inc. Positions included in progression during this period: Engineering Analyst (F/A-18, F-14 TARPS) January 1981-December 1981, Group Leader TACAIR Programs January 1982-May 1985, Unit Manager TACAIR Systems Engineering Unit June 1985-October 1992, Manager Naval Air Programs November 1992- December 1995, Director Naval Air Program January 1995-September 1996, Vice President Naval Air Programs September 1996-December 1998. During his tenure with SEMCOR Inc., he developed the company's overall internal Business Development and Strategic Planning Processes and Procedures. He built a Business Development Pipeline for his Business Unit in excess of $4.0B and had overseen the successful target and capture of over 25 prime engineering support contracts (CPFF, T&M, FFP, CPAF) in excess of $3B total ceiling (excluding MACs and ID/IQs). He was also responsible for moving and transitioning the company offices from Warminster PA and Crystal City VA to Lexington Park MD as a result of the NAVAIRSYSCOM 1995 BRAC move.
