COVER LETTER: To whom it may concern: I had taken a leave from my previous advertising, promotions and publicity career to assist with family health issues but now I am eager to return to an active career in the areas of project management, promotions, publicity or marketing. While living in Los Angeles, I had the opportunity to work in film and entertainment doing publicity, and for the professional and collegiate sports industries I worked in public relations, event planning and promotions as listed below. * Weintraub Entertainment - Assisting the Producer, Mary Kay Powell, and the Unit Publicist, Stanley Brochette, on the feature film, "Listen To Me, " starring Roy Scheider, Kirk Cameron, Jamie Gertz and directed by Douglas Day Stewart ("Blue Lagoon" writer/director fame) * American Cinematheque for six years - Assisting with Publicity and in coordinating their "Celebration in Film" events for Michael Douglas, Rob Reiner, Mel Gibson, John Travolta and Bruce Willis. I wrote celebrity pieces and assisted with the event honoring the originator of the Panoramic Film process, Western Film Director, Budd Boettiger, featuring interviews and appearances by Clint Eastwood and James Garner. Another high-profile media event where I assisted the publicist was the screening of the feature film "House of Spirits" starring Meryl Streep and Jeremy Irons. * Warner Brothers International Publicity - Was an intern in their International Publicity Department where I assisted the Head Publicist in coordinating the Hollywood Foreign Press Junket for their feature film "Tin Cup" which starred Kevin Costner, Renee Russo and Don Johnson. The Head International Publicist who I assisted said that due to my organizational and publicity skills, this had been the most successful Press Junket with the Hollywood Foreign Press that Warner Brothers had done in years. * Virginia Slims Professional Tennis Tour Manhattan Beach Tennis Club - Assisting the Public Relations Firm Jenkins, Mimms and Robbins in writing player bios, assisting with the event and in coordinating the press interviews with players such as Martina Navratilova, Gabriella Sabatini and many others. * NCTC - referred to as the "Wimbledon of College Tennis" - Working in Public Relations and Promotions for over seven years writing press releases, player bios, coordinating the events and handling celebrities such as Billie Jean King and Rosie Casal. I also provided tournament sponsors and worked on-site with the producers of ESPN's Prime Time coverage for these events. My previous freelance business in advertising production and account service covers a span of over sixteen years of experience. During this time, I helped produce national advertising campaigns for several high-profile consumer accounts such as Acura, Nissan, Toyota, Universal Studios Hollywood and Florida, Caesars Palace Tahoe and Las Vegas, La Costa Spa and Resort to name a few. On the client side, I was an account executive for The American Lung Association account and as Sr. Production Manager for the Chevron Corporation I supervised a staff of studio production artists, art directors and copywriters in producing some of the most innovative collateral pieces Chevron has ever produced, all within time and on budget I bring a unique mix of account service, production and budgeting experience through my advertising work, combined with a successful background within the entertainment and sports promotions industries which allows me to be extremely useful to companies needing marketing, event planning, management and promotions.
