Completed paperwork for all deploying Marines including updating emergency records and service extensions. Traveled to 15 remote locations in Afghanistan covering 30,000 square miles to check on troops. Conducted more than 40 combat operations including patrols helicopter insertions clearing compounds resupply and enemy engagement. Established a communications and logistical network to communicate with widely dispersed contacts to enable rapid maintenance and replenishment. To fill just 131 deployment slots drew on experience in Iraq to correctly identify the exact staffing needed for balancing warfighting and combat support. Developed budget and requested funds raised outside contributions set ticket prices selected venue and negotiated contracts sampled meals and set menu designed program of speakers and entertainers issued invitations managed protocol and engaged DJ. to Iraq including one carrying 430 troops and led in the protection of a convoy of 59 vehicles carrying 140 troops 130 miles over 3 days. Also oversaw more than 200 convoys to bases throughout Iraq. * Developed an SOP for responding to mortar and rocket attacks that were occurring weekly for 7 months. Noticed buildings withstood these attacks and instructed in SOP to stay inside and don helmets and flak jackets. SOP also required a Point of Contact (POC) for every building to report attacks within 15 minutes. SOP was officially adopted by the Commander and the camp reported 100 percent accounting of personnel after two ensuing attacks.
