COVER LETTER: To Whom It May Concern, I am a 34+ yr experienced RN with diversified hospital experience. My experience includes medical surgery, dialysis (peritoneal), immunology, infectious disease, and IV therapy team experiences including PICC and chemotherapy administration. I have spent 16 years of my career focused on hospital utilization review, case management (Medicaid/Medicare, Managed Care), hospital bill audit, and discharge planning experience. I have insight into insurance case management, PIP. My current position is RN UM Coordinator/Case Manager at RWJBH Rahway hospital. My role is to review hospital stay for severity of illness and intensity of service to determine medical necessity for in patient vs. observation LOC. I also assess patients for discharge needs referring them for appropriate LOC be it SAR, Home Health or LTACH expediting discharge to appropriate LOC. I have always been a team player. I also work autonomously very well. My leadership skills have evolved and I pride myself on being the go to person for troubleshooting in past and present positions. My management skills have developed well over the years, and I feel I can be an asset to any job asked of me. I enjoy education so am always able to remain teachable in any role given. I am very organized and can be task oriented, but at the same time I am very capable of juggling many tasks at once if necessary. I take pride in my RN license and look for every chance to live up to the standards expected from one who carries it. I am looking to expand my experiences and help make today's healthcare system one to be proud of as well as one I will be able to count on should the need arise. I enjoy being a part of the Healthcare System. I am looking for a position, which allows me to help improve the way healthcare works today. My goal is to make it a more smoothly running machine with the patient always at the center of attention. I intend to continue my education. I take something with me from every encounter and experience I have. I enjoy working with interdisciplinary departments and putting a well thought-out plan in motion. I have learned how to approach physicians in a non-threatening way and make them well aware that I am an asset to them and not the enemy. This has been working well for me and I would love to tackle another aspect of the "Big Picture" and take it on as well. I am very happy in my present position but I am seeking additional employment to supplement my finances, or possibly take me on a new adventure. I am willing to move forward into an entirely new position should the right opportunity present itself. I believe I can become a beneficial addition to any position I take on.
