CollapseDescription

and Focus: I am a high energy, self-starting, detail oriented commercial, bankruptcy, real estate, employment and labor lawyer, peer-rated AV "preeminent" for excellence in legal ability and ethics. I have also engaged in a project based real estate business, locating, rezoning and flipping residential lots and undeveloped commercial property, and building and flipping residential condominium properties and pre-construction contracts in Tennessee and Florida. In January 2017 I concluded a 42-year career as a private practitioner to undergo long postponed orthopedic procedures that have now been successfully completed. Instead of restarting my former high stress "emergency room" solo law practice, I am pursing full or part-time employment or contract-based project management work in real estate, such as net lease portfolio administration, site location or warranty dispute resolution. I am also pursuing employment as a Human Relations Director or Manager, in a unionized or at will employment situation. This employment would advantageously leverage my experience as Human Relations/Employee Relations lawyer having counselled management at all levels and having litigated and conducted training and educational sessions for managers and advising senior management in Title VII compliance, Wage/Hour law, age discrimination and compliance and all other employment regulating laws. I am also a management side only labor lawyer, fully experienced in federal and state organized labor law and administration. Since 1977 I have represented management in diverse industries nationwide in a traditional labor law matters covering the entire spectrum of labor organization, bargaining, and arbitration, mediation and dispute administration. Apart from law, I have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Memphis where I majored in finance, insurance and real estate, and separately in marketing. Prior to law school I was employed in retail sales, in newspaper delivery, and as a background investigator for Equifax when doing business as Retail Credit Company of Atlanta. My experience and training as an investigator for Equifax have enabled me to be especially effective in uncovering and litigating innumerable fraud and misconduct situations and schemes, most recently a case in which a rogue manager forged and then tried to enforce an employee's signature to and backdated a confidentiality and non-compete agreement. Given my background, experience and education I am ready and able to "hit the ground running" in the following positions or any combination: (1) Real Estate and Commercial Lease Administration - Locating, analyzing feasibility, rezoning, codes compliance, appraising and valuing, developing, providing on site construction consultation and warranty corrections assurance, and customer relations services. I also conduct a niche business policing and transacting in net commercial leases. (2) Human Relations - Providing comprehensive state and federal employment discrimination law expertise, compliance and training, including wage/hour, ADEA, confidentiality/non-compete agreements and management, and trade secret protection (3) Labor Relations - Providing full-spectrum management side labor law expertise. I have years of experience dealing with labor organization representation, decertification of bargaining units, preparation of contract proposals, countless hours at the bargaining table negotiating with union representatives nationwide, federal mediation and conciliation, unfair labor practice avoidance and defense, fair representation disputes, arbitration of interests and contract disputes, extension, termination and renegotiation of collective bargaining agreements and right to work issues. (4) Fraud and Background Investigation - I became an experienced background investigator as an employee of Equifax in the 1970's. I also have experience in fraud and theft loss detection and prevention, and in forensic analysis of financial records and reports. I am also able to provide expert opinion and fact testimony and to assist counsel in case preparation and litigation if needed. I am accustomed to working in a Windows environment and I have years of hands on experience with Microsoft Office and other business accounting applications such as Quicken.
