Qualifications Overview: * Technically -proficient in setting up the perfusion machine and in its operation and its maintenance. * Ability to prepare mouse ringer, solutions and dissolutions. * Proficient in working with different chemicals (eg. Guanosine, HCl, NaOH, D-aspartate, scintilation fluid, etc.) * Attended workshop on safety in the laboratory and able to perform wipe test * Ability to use immunohistochemical methods to test and identify proteins * Competent in writing reviews (peers and research reviews) by abiding to the rules of writing a research. * Skilled in writing both research and grant proposals * Have in-depth knowledge of doing research with human subjects (including developmentally disabled individuals), and IRB regulations and functions. * Biological courses taken include: Human anatomy and physiology (1 &2) Neurobiology (1 &2) The analysis of biological data. * General Chemistry 1 * Studied about HIV while being a nursing student for a semester in College of Staten Island and also in Mental Retardation courses in graduate school in the same college. * Taught High School Mathematics in Ghana for a couple of years. * Have knowledge of schizophrenia, autism, Alzheimers, and depression. * Have knowledge of genetic syndromes such as Fragile X, Down Syndrome, William Syndrome and Rett syndrome. * Have knowledge of diseases such as Parkison's and Huntington Diseases. * Did assignments in clinical trials with my coursemates while in the clinical research program in Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, NY.
