CollapseDescription

Summary I am an experienced IT professional. I specialize in integrated IT systems for mergers and acquisitions and migrations and upgrades of authentication domains and messaging platforms, i.e. Exchange upgrades or Notes or GroupWise to Exchange or Office 365 migrations. I have worked on small, large and solo teams successfully. I am methodical and diligent. I have an unparalleled work ethic. My systematic and out of the box troubleshooting skills have served me well in the public, government, Fortune 500, healthcare and DoD sectors. My end to end experience with people, products, processes and partners ensures I get the job done. I am ITIL V3 Certified and hold an MCSE and Messaging (2003) certifications as well as Exchange 2010 certifications. I have extensive migration experience and have used effectively Quest as well as native tools to perform migrations. I can quickly and accurately articulate, whiteboard and document solutions and plans and implement change control processes. I can build and document Greenfield environments as well as remediate and optimize existing and provide meaningful documentation to gain understanding of the infrastructure and provide a baseline for troubleshooting. I am versed in server 2012 R2 domain upgrades, deploying IPAM and clustered Hyper-V and virtual machine deployment for failover and redundancy. Most Recent Projects Palantir A 20-billion-dollar secure data mining company for major US Government agencies was experiencing problems with preparing and extended the life span of its Exchange 2010 infrastructure for the migration to Office 365. I was able to determine quickly that their back up issue was due to disc contention on their onboard storage and not with their backup software. I recommend a short term solution to use SSD drives to house the VSS shadow copy that is taken prior to the backup starting on their passive data bases. I specified deploying Direct attached storage of faster discs than the onboard storage they were using to provide more capacity and higher performance than the current Raid 1/0 that housed the VSS, Exchange, logs and databases. We have ordered the equipment and will prestage it in the Exchange Data centers that are geo-redundant on the west and east coasts so that we can roll the hardware out. We will then move the log paths to Raid 1 mirror sets and create and move mailboxes to newly created Databases to minimize end user down time. This engagement started as a one month assessment, but was extended 4 months due to the value added services provided. Virginian Office of the Attorney General As part of an engagement escalation, coordinated, executed and documented a migration to and cutover of mail routing and client access for a large state's attorney general's office. This included configuring an Airwatch appliance used for mobile device secure access to Outlook Anywhere, reconfiguring newly built Exchange 2010 server's certificates and client access URLs as well as coordinating 600 mailbox moves and client-side support. A Kemp load balancing array was deployed and configured as part of this best practices design and deployment. Documented and delivered a detailed assessment, migration approach and demonstrated migration tools to perform a complex user account merge of a legacy and production domains users and re-permissioning of file servers and workstations. Supervised the Wintel, AD, VMware and Citrix portions of a $300 million dollar plus Assumption of Services project for a NASDAQ listed company. This involved a knowledge acquisition phase of learning client daily processes and documentation leading to performing customer IT tasks under supervision prior to hand off of primary responsibility. Built as WINTEL / VMWare SME 150 servers from virtual templates using complex process using Click3000, Service Now and Remedy ticketing systems to track progress, hand off to network and application teams. Configured and added access to application servers for application teams. Department of Commerce I was initially engaged to consolidate two domains - a resource domain and its users' domain. I accomplished under time and budget with no disruption of service using the Quest Migration Manager. I was asked back for subsequent consolidation efforts by the DoC's highly competent and efficient staff and leadership. Key Positions held: PALANTIR / ITCO SOLUTIONS Remediating a geo-redundant Exchange 2010 messaging platform for Palantir a $20 Billion dollar data mining company whose major clients are government agencies such as the FBI and a separate line of business for secure financial institutions. Performed an assessment and designed mitigation strategies for their current Exchange 2010 organization with data centers in San Jose, CA and Washington DC. Implemented scheduled changes and remediated and resolved real time outages. ATEC GROUP 2016 (FORMERLY GSS INFOTECH) Service Delivery Lead responsible for internal workings of our line of business tool Autotask and the results of a team of Network and Software Solutions Architects and professionals in the Upstate New York Region. Implemented Autotask AEM (Autotask Endpoint Management tool) to automate patching and software updates, monitor servers, workstations and network devices. Provided pre-sales input to all proposals and projects and time estimates for services for a team of 7 sales executives. Worked to resolve directly with customer's gaps in support and any satisfaction with services issues. Implemented customer changeover to a new cloud based mail hygiene SaaS Solution (Fusemail).
