QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY: Proficient test engineer with the ability to develop and maintain test related processes and procedures, interpret schematics, analyze failures to determine root cause, implement quality improvement initiatives, familiar with all aspects of a test laboratory operations. Professional references will affirm technical capabilities, results orientation with attention to detail, teamwork and excellent interpersonal skills. BACKGROUND OVERVIEW: Thomas and Betts - ABB, Memphis, TN Thomas and Betts-ABB is a world leader in providing products for the electrical industry. R&D Test Laboratory, Manager February 2012 to July 2017 * Following two years of progressive responsibility as test engineer (2012 - 2014) was appointed as Lab Manager. * As Manager identified operational performance improvement opportunities and changes needed to meet ABB's post acquisition expectations. Designed a centralized multiuser project review process to prioritize workflow, timely provide quantitative feedback, eliminate redundancy and improve release times. * While increasing the lab's output and product diversity, the internal and external audits by Underwriters Laboratory (UL) have dramatically improved to only minor findings. * Technically performed, supervised and approved electrical product compliance in accordance with ISO 17025 to various agency safety standards (UL, CSA, IEC, IEEE, ANSI and NMX.) * The merger with ABB has provided opportunity for consultation in lab development initiatives in China, Canada, Great Britain and other continental U.S. locations. * Strong midyear/annual performance reviews that document professional contributions and enhanced output of the department i.e., safety culture, staff engagement, intercompany outreach and productivity. * Managerially responsible for 14 engineers/technical employees including: selection, recognition, team building, performance management and policy adherence. * Evaluated equipment capabilities, recommended/made capital acquisitions and prepared initial / ongoing orientation. * Liaison and field supervisor for engineering students at Christian Brothers, Memphis Universities and a cooperative program with the Tennessee College of Applied Technology. Sanmina - SCI, Huntsville AL A registered ISO 9001 and AS9100 electronics contract manufacturing facility for the aerospace, communication, and defense sectors. Test Engineer April 2006 to November 2011 * Promoted to increasing levels of responsibility with autonomy: Test Production Technician to Test Engineer (November 2009) and Test Engineer II (April 2011). * Worked in the high security area producing electronic reliant products for the U.S. Government / allies, and major defense/aerospace contractors. * Complete project scope responsibilities including: new contract specifications, conceptualizing, test/debugging technology, interpreting/revising schematics, quantitative/qualitative monitoring and periodic meetings with customer representatives. * Supported five Test Production Technicians with training, responding to test failures/higher control limits and increasing engagement with production expectations (96% ICT test yield). * Utilizing Six Sigma methodology initiated Q-STATS (quality management software), Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) process for In Circuit Testing to improve equipment efficiency and stability. * Regular interface and timely follow-up with diverse stakeholders involving in person, telecommunications and technically detailed written communications.
