Accomplishments * Managed more than 100 projects spanning over a 7-year period while consulting to Hess Refinery averaging 14 projects per year while completing them on time and within a 10% margin. * Negotiated for a Union and Non-union contractor to work side by side on a Hess Marine project that completed on time and under budget. * Received Construction Management recognition from Hess for completing an $11 million North and South Dock rehabilitation project while maintaining a constant revenue stream to and from the refinery. The project was executed over 6 phases and completed on time and under budget. * Executed an emergency regenerator outage budgeted at $7 million and completed under $6 million in 23 days. Utilized manpower histograms and productivity curves to control the overall man power on the project. * Realized a $2 million cost savings on a Axeon dock project through alternate design and engineering allowing for continuous revenue stream. Built new mooring dolphins adjacent to existing and gangway redesign. * Selected by Hess upper management to oversee all tank decommissioning in preparation of refinery demolition and terminal turn over to the new owner. Hess started with 250 employees and I was one of three employees remaining at the end of the close when the new company, Buckeye, took the facility over. * Successful in orchestrating the pour of 170 concrete trucks, over water and in a 24-hour window, with only 5 trucks being turned away during the completion of a Hess dock rehabilitation project. * Renegotiated Hess tank cleaning bids by splitting up the work between two competitors, one took the waste disposal the other the tank cleaning. The competitors worked side by side and the project realized a cost savings in excess of $1.2 million. * Managed the API 653 regulatory work at multiple locations that had to be completed prior to the sale of Axeon terminals. Total number of tank repairs and cleaning were in excess of 25, and (1) dock rehabilitation, all executed in less than 9 months. * Successfully negotiated ZERO change orders on a Lump Sum $3 million marine rehabilitation contract through negotiation of subcontractor material delays against discovery work and the use of overtime completing the project on time and under budget. * Renegotiated waste disposal contracts where Hess was paying various companies to remove, transport and dispose of waste at an average cost of .63 per pound. By dealing directly with a transportation company, Hess realized an average cost of .26 per pound, in addition to removing all demerge and delay charges. The savings amounted to millions of dollars.
