PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY My current position has provided me with the opportunity for growth, mentorship, and educational resources. My current role in Correctional medicine has provided me with chance to care for an underserved population. I have been able to provide primary care, women's health, wound care and infectious disease. I've had the privilege to care for patients with various Cardiac and Vascular diseases. My schedule includes 2 days per week in the outpatient office (Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute) and 3 days at Carolinas Medical Center Main campus for cardiovascular rounds. The clinical activities that I'm responsible for are assessments, evaluations, treatments and diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases. In this office, I have the opportunity to provide advanced wound care, monitor wound infections, and the monitoring of appropriate antibiotic therapy. Wound care consists of the evaluation and care, both venous and arterial wounds, with compression therapy and use of multiple advanced wound care products. As a RN I have been able to care for Congestive Heart Failure, Acute MI, Pre and Post Transplant patients. I directly manage Diabetic, Hypertensive, Hyperlipidema, and smoking cessation efforts. I have successfully started and managed a Limb Salvage program 2015 - 2016 Specialties include Critical Limb Ischemia, and Diabetic foot ulceration's. I have been Chief of Wound Care in the vascular office.
