COVER LETTER: Please accept the attached resume as my application for a position of Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in your facility. I have just recently graduated from UAMS College of Nursing's family nurse practitioner program and am looking to discuss working with your team of health care providers. I have successfully completed my FNP certification exam with ANCC and currently looking for employment. I have a strong history working with dialysis patients with a variety of complicated health issues and I feel that I can be an asset to your facility. In addition to the skills set learned as a nurse practitioner student, I offer 20year experience in caring for various acute and chronic diseases in patients with end stage renal. During my work experience as a registered nurse I have filled the position of staff nurse, charge nurse, acute dialysis nurse, nurse manager, and case manager. Currently my focus is in caring for patients and families that perform dialysis at home using peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis modalities. I have held this position for the past 5 years and have become very familiar with evidence-based practice and problem-solving skills that can be valuable as a health care provider to a variety of patients. I consistently have received excellent annual reviews and evaluations in every position I have held in addition to bonuses that reflect my commitment to my position. I can offer your clinic a skill set that is rare to find in nurse practitioners, a set of skills that gives me the ability to care for patients in a setting that is complex and requires attention to detail. Many patients suffering from kidney disease vary in age and have multiple comorbidities, assisting them to acquire and maintain optimal health is an ongoing challenge and has become a passion for me.
