Managed hardware moves, consolidation and build-outs etc. Areas of Expertise: Project Management Hardware Testing and Troubleshooting Problem Identification and Resolution Data Center Management Vendor Management Change Implementation New product Certification/ Implementation Project Strategy and Direction Team Building/Leadership Cross Cultural Communications SAN Implementation and Cabling UNIX (IBM AIX and SUN Solaris) Diverse Market/Industry Knowledge Data Center Infrastructure Over six years of migration experience from inception to completion and complete closures of the older Data Center Some of the clients included: Chubb Insurance (732 servers), Trane (344 servers), Burger King (576 servers), Zales (375 Servers), State of Maryland (75 Servers), NIKE (75 Servers) Parkland Hospital (670 Servers) and Ingram Micro (1056 Servers) * Servers were migrated, and the storage subsystems and backup infrastructure were brought in along with the network equipment * A lot of the storage had to move and they were EMC storage, at that time it was the DMX and brocade switched * Also replacing the brocade switches with Cisco * To free up data center floor space we started virtualizing physical servers which freed up floor space, the servers used were IBM 3850 and Dell hardware * Extensive experience within closing data centers: one data center needed all power left in place so that it could be sold as data center ready, others were completely shut down and the hardware infrastructure was sold on the used market, and other clients left servers in place at their headquarters, and the main servers were then housed at ACS * Managed Data Center for floor space, power, cabling infrastructure and cooling for all hardware as well * During the move had to open tickets and follow the change management processes for not only the move but for the install of all hardware within the new data center. This was also another way for management to track what was being completed and when * Responsible for making sure that all resources were in place during the migration so that all hardware could be installed, tested and certified for client sign-off when the work was completed * Responsible for conference calls with the stakeholders to make sure everyone was on the same page during multiple stages of the hardware moves * Directly managed vendor management company through resolution of various problems, this involved escalations for hardware problems and root cause for the failures etc. * Held weekly and monthly meeting with Senior Management of multiple companies where we go over issues, problems and statistics * Performed hardware upgrades, installs, rollout of hardware and firmware as needed for system problems on Mid-range systems and mainframes * Managed 17 people and ran a 24X7 Data Center, mentored, trained and assisted as needed to get all work completed. * Team was responsible to for the Data Center Inventory which we had to maintain * ACS was BS20000 compliant
