Description
PROFILE * Performs all phases of program from concept and analysis through documentation, prototype manufacture, test and evaluation and production support. * Designs and analyzes products using state of the art engineering software and creates part and assembly drawings per ASME Y14.5 (GD&T). * Hosts and creates documents for design reviews and formal gate reviews. * Ensures timely completion of project design deliverables within allocated budget, performance and schedule limits. * Tests products per environmental requirements, including design and operation of test fixtures, instrumentation and cabling. * Utilizes strong knowledge of material and hardware selection. * Provides timely, clear, concise communication to management, customers, partners, and team members concerning work status and impacts. * Resolves technical issues, collaborates with other staff, and supports customers. * Contacts sales, customers and suppliers, answers design questions, participates in cost reductions, and assists alternate vendor sourcing. * Interfaces with customers, vendors, and production to develop product requirements and solutions. * Resolves technical conflicts encountered in design/drawing packages with vendors and shops to ensure conformance with design documentation. Provides excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Demonstrates excellent people skills. * Maintains discipline as a self-motivated and independent worker and performs under stress in a fast paced environment. * Relies on extensive experience and judgment to accomplish goals and exercises considerable initiative, planning, and independent judgment.
