Some of the projects in critical business line is as follows: SALES: * Returns and Exchange: This projects was a solution to provide visibility & insight to the Returns & Exchange in EDW by creating new data aggregates and corresponding reporting interface changes in EDW to enable reporting and analysis through various R&E metrics which would be added in the new aggregates. * Universal Basket: Baskets Created and Baskets Tendered reports was prepared manually by support team. These reports are used to communicate weekly MCSA (Multi-Channel Sales Associate) activity to the stores, and internal analysis of basket usage. MCSA sale are done over the phone, by specific sales representatives through the Universal Basket UI. In order to distinguish a MCSA created UB (Universal Basket) from any other UB, a specific SKU is added to the basket. * Sale Simplification: Consumption of all POSLOG attributes from STH through the New POSLog flow into the Sales Base tables and decommissions STH-EDW existing flow. PRICING: * PAM - Pricing Analytics Master: Project was to enhancing the data points and Self Service reports needed to improve BBY's pricing/promotion models and support the pricing decision making process across multiple channels. The other objective is to identify business friendly data visualization and Analytics tool. Key Large Programs in Enterprise Data Warehouse * Matrix Re-platform and Fort -RNG : Creation of the new Data warehouse in PDW (Parallel Data warehouse) as same as EDW (Enterprise Data warehouse). As part of this project the EDW base flows will be created in PDW and the Crystal reports based out of Teradata will be converted as SSRS reports based out of PDW. Responsibilities: * Understanding Scenarios, writing Test cases, Documentation of all testing related documents in PVCS Version manager and SharePoint. * Verified data completeness and transformation rules. * Tested referential relations and integrities of data. * Performed database validation according to the business logic by comparing the source to the target in Spreadsheet and by writing SQL queries. * Identified defects and errors in data prior to data processing and updated the same in PVCS defect tracker tool and in SharePoint. * Interactions with BA & Dev teams to resolve the issues. * Running the jobs/Workflows for ETL process in Tivoli workload scheduler and did the validation. * Created the test environment for Staging area, loading the Staging area with data from multiple sources. * Involved in Regression, Functional, Integration, System Testing and User Acceptance Testing. * Collaborated with program team to get the required data to test the functional requirement of the project for IPT and UAT from the multiple source systems. * Prepared and ran SQL queries to validate Dimensional and Fact tables. * Business Object/Crystal report, SSRS, SSAS report validation on top of mart table created as per the requirement. * Leading Team members in the execution of the project. * Reporting daily testing status and weekly status and published to both Offshore and onshore team. Source connects with many system and send data to downstream which involve the loyalty point / Offers given to the members. * What is in the Box: Business were able to generate Ad Hoc reports on all the data of missing accessories (item description, price) at the time of return of any product. * Bundle Returns Phase 1 and 2: * Bundle Returns project enabled systematic bundle returns to mitigate the existing manual SOP at stores and Florida stamp tax initiative will enable BestBuy to collect tax on Installment Billing transactions in Florida State and also support new business reporting requirements on Florida Stamp Tax/E911 Fee. * Enterprise data warehouse changes for consuming new data and attributes related to Bundle Returns and Gift Card out of Balance to support existing/new reports as well as any adhoc reporting from the Enterprise Data Warehouse. * Single SKU: Apple began distributing mobile devices that are capable of being activated on any carrier with their new product introduction in fall 2015. Although Apple is continuing to distribute devices to Best Buy under the old approach with carrier locked SKUs, Best Buy was in need of Single SKU functionality in place no later than the next Apple product introduction in fall 2016 in order to effectively sell these devices. As part of Single SKU project, the required changes will be done to ensure that the areas which are identified as to be modified to sync up the data across the subjects areas. * CABO: Marketing and loyalty operations are both in a need of a better way to target customers with offers. Today coupons are the only way to target a customer. While we can target a coupon at a specific customer, we cannot guarantee that specific customer is the only one who can redeem it. Also, currently single use coupons can be used once online and in-store each due to system limitations. The process to set up coupons is manual and not scalable. Most coupon usage will be migrated to customer offers because the business knows the intended target for the coupon. Therefore, the approach is stand up the customer offer capability first and then determine if there is a need to update the coupon capability. * Oracle Stream Elimination: As part of Oracle Stream Elimination, RMS is replacing oracle streams data transfer from RMS to RASC NAS by introducing the intermediate AUDIT table and then RMS exposes the base table information by joining with AUDIT tables then informatica will pull the records from view and push it to OEDW, EDW, and PDW for high volume table and for low volume table informatica will pull the records directly from RMS. Responsibilities: * Writing Master Test Plan and Test Scenarios based on Business Requirement Document (BRD) for accuracy and Completeness. * Analyzed the business process workflows and mapping document indicating the source tables, columns, data types, transformations required, business rules to be applied, target tables, columns and data types. * Co-ordinate with the whole testing team to ensure total quality control on all deliverables. * Able to work in tight schedule and on different projects and environments at the same time. * Verified data completeness and transformation rules by coordination with IPT team. * Tested referential relations and integrities of data. * Leading Offshore Team members in the execution of the project and helping them in writing the Test scripts based on the scenarios. * Created the test environment for Staging area, loading the Staging area with data from multiple sources. * Involved in Regression, Functional, Integration, System Testing, Performance testing and User Acceptance Testing. * Performed APT, IPT during Onshore time and coordinated with UAT team for the final approval of the project. * Conducted the defect review meetings daily with Development team as well as with the program Team. * Attended triage and cross functional meetings to facilitate direction, discuss the priorities of defects logged and delivery time. * Performed extensive Backend Testing by developing, modifying, and executing SQL queries for data validation and data verification on database. * Involved in other test planning meetings and submitted test metrics daily to the management. * Tested different Reports that will be generated for the vendor needs and validated the data of reports by writing SQL queries. * Provided a weekly project report that includes Test Metrics and status reports. * Daily status Report to the Offshore as well as Onsite team. working payment related project which has major impact for business.
