Career Highlights * Successful pilot system designed & developed for demineralization of whey streams to produce pure food/pharmaceutical grade lactose separation of valuable protein from whey to produce whey protein isolate (WPI), December 2014 - Patent-pending. * Successful pilot scale-up of commercially relevant blend of fatty alcohols using sugars from cellulosic biomass and engineered strains, achieved at a 1,500 liter demonstration facility at Chemtex's R&D complex in Tortona, Italy, June 2013 - 3 patents. * Pilot scale validation of an engineered carbonic anhydrase with 10 6-fold stability improvement at high temperature & pH for industrial carbon dioxide capture with flue gas at the National Carbon Capture Center in May 2012 - 2 patents * Development of a fungal cellulase production host as a biocatalyst production platform to deliver engineered cellulase enzyme mix at a cost/volume to enable commercialization of cellulose- derived biofuels.
