Summary An enthusiastic, self-motivated nuclear medicine technologist highly regarded for consistently achieving superior results through hard work, planning, and effective implementation of technical knowledge in the pediatric environment. Additional educational experience includes extensive hands-on clinical experience in PET, radiopharmacy, cardiac and adult general nuclear medicine. Departmental duties include: * Performs all nuclear medicine procedures in the pediatric environment while maintaining effective communication with hospital staff and physicians. * Verifies patient and procedure information reviews clinical history and screens for contraindications. * Ensures the correct patient information and technical parameters are entered into computer system prior to execution of procedure. * Administers radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols. * Places catheters and performs venipuncture for the administration of radiopharmaceutical and medications using sterile technique. Departmental, and archives images for evaluation, interpretation, and maintenance purposes. * Processes patient and exam information and transfers image data to PACS. * Assists schedulers in scheduling nuclear procedures. * Sits on the radiation safety committee. * Orders all nuclear supplies and verifies charges are correct. * Played a key role in developing, writing, and implementing pediatric protocols to be compiled into Oakland's new procedure manual. duties include: * Explains test procedures and safety precautions to patients and their parents in an age appropriate manner while providing excellent patient care. * Administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients under the direction of a physician for detection and/or treatment of disease. * Gathers information of patients' illnesses and medical history to guide the choice of diagnostic procedures. Prepares stock radiopharmaceuticals adhering to safety standards that minimize radiation exposure to workers and patients. * Adds radioactive substances to biological specimens such as blood to determine therapeutic drug levels. * Disposes of radioactive materials and store radiopharmaceuticals following radiation safety procedures.
