Summary: Special Skills Aviation Technician: * Fully trained and competent in blueprint/schematic reading and interpreting manufacturers' and customers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. * Contacting, establishing, and maintaining liaison with aerospace and equipment manufacturers concerning major modifications, repairs, and incorporations of Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives into the procedural process. * Assisting in the development of troubleshooting procedures and maintenance schedules. * Gather, review and edit complex technical information from aircraft manufacturer publications. * Liaise with company representatives to refine and correct anomalies in installation and testing processes. * Develop repair schemes through use of manufacturers SRM (Structural Repair Manual) to include cutting and forming repair/replacement parts, and fastener layout. * Assist in the development of prototype aerospace assemblies and mechanisms (R&D) to include producing documentation for assembling, installation, removal, and trouble shooting of aircraft systems, electro-mechanical devices and navigation systems. * Familiar with Air Transport Association (ATA) 100 system, Title 14 CFR regulations, as well as FAR 21, 121, and 135, Service Bulletins, Engineering Changes, and STC's. * Extensive experience in the use of all hand and power tools used to maintain, repair, and modify aircraft. * Experienced in jacking and leveling aircraft to facilitate maintenance and repair. * Investigating/determining failures in aircraft structure, malfunctions with landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, ventilation and heating systems. * Reading and interpreting manufacturers' and customers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. * Interfacing with other departments, requiring strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with management, customer, and technical staff. Experienced with ETM's, IETM's, IADS, and MWO's. * Create/maintain assembly documentation for manufacturing personnel * Write and establish departmental and organizational procedures within the aviation industry to include Safety, Fire Prevention and Environmental Health and Safety. * Develop manuals for fabrication, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of prototype components, assemblies, and electro-mechanical devices within the aviation and military vehicle industries. * Assisting in the development of troubleshooting procedures and maintenance schedules. * Create/maintain installation guides for component installations/field parts replacement. * Select or create drawings, graphics or diagrams to explain material * Project Director and Coordinator. * Initiate and coordinate several projects simultaneously, assigning manpower, establishing logistical support, monitoring progress and resolving production issues. * Initiate and coordinate Depot level repairs. * Develop and maintain a positive customer relationship. * Establish and maintain liaison with both in-house and manufacturer engineering. * Directing the periodic scheduling for inspections on wide-bodied aircraft. (TWA) * Organizing logistical support for all departments. * Reviewing and adjusting projected timelines for major modifications or repairs to aircraft, usually reduced as a result of refinement in work practices and logistic support.
