July 31, 2017     To Whom It May Concern:   I have been in the early childhood education field for over 25 years, which includes working with teachers, parents, and other professionals. I have held similar administrative positions throughout my career, as director and coordinator of educational programs. In my role as director of the YMCA Child Care Program (White Plains, NY), my duties included: providing a safe nurturing and positive environment for children and their families, developing and implementing policies and procedures, enhancing quality programming, monitoring and supporting UPK programs, and modeling strong classroom management. During my time at the YMCA, I trained in the CLASS assessment tool. I worked closely with the families in my program to provide them support and resources for their specific needs. I have strong fiscal management abilities, with a track record of keeping programs within existing budget, while providing a rich environment for children to thrive.    I have thorough knowledge of state regulations, and maintain an outstanding track record of exceeding standards for NAEYC accreditation and re-accreditation by taking the lead in all compliance matters related to OCFS, Quality Stars (NY State Accreditation and other regulations. Because of my expertise in theory and child development, I conduct trainings, class instruction, and assist providers with their CDA (Child Development Associate) through the Child Care Council of Westchester, NY. I have also been teaching an Early Childhood Development course at Westchester Community College for the past four years. In addition to my experience, I also hold a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with an extension in Special Education Birth through 6th.
