Accomplishments and Related Skills: For the past twelve years my duties include planning, developing, implementing and evaluating programs and their impacts on families and aging populations in underserved communities. I make recommendations regarding plans of action and organization after analyzing systems and services available to our stakeholders. Responsibilities include collaboration with local, state, federal, nonprofit, community based organizations and agencies which provide educational outreach development and implementation. I work with diverse populations understanding, listening, problem solving, and communicating according to cultures, individuals and community life-styles and needs. I develop programs such as crafts, healthy living series, gardening and farming, socialization, food security, and health disparities. Collection of data allows for the analysis of programs, systems and services in order to address policy issues and expand present and future projects. Prepare quarterly, monthly, and annual reports. I provide leadership development, technical assistance and staff development tools such as power-point presentations, lectures and workshops on health related issues and vital public policy issues effecting low-income communities. I serve as a liaison between Lincoln University and various agencies and organizations to help secure program resource dollars through grants, donations, and other resources. This includes writing grant proposals for extramural funding. I was appointed to serve as the Coordinator for the Expanded Food Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP). I was responsible for addressing the nutrition issues facing low income families and their children as a result of food insecurity and poor health. Annual Capitol Hill visit to lobby Legislators in the House and Senate presenting data that would support an increase in grant funding. 10/1992 - 2/1995 Library Associate/Weekend Supervisor Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills: Worked in a direct management position, interviewing potential employees, preparing performance evaluations, maintaining adequate staffing, assuring provision of services and problem solving. Other essential functions included providing research, reference information, community referrals, reader advisory, and services to facilitate effective use of the library resources. This position required the ability to communicate and interact successfully with staff and the public. 12/1986 - 08/1989 Library Assistant/Paralegal Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills: Assisted Library users, answer reference questions, locating case law, legislation, treatise, federal regulations, federal and state statutes and territories. I was responsible for research requests and all updates both manual and electronic and for managing library operations in the absence of the Library Director.
