Fab responsibilities for 3 shifts, 24 hr. operation. Duties include but not limited to plant safety, maintenance, employee relations, quality, quantity and cost of production within specified metrics - maintaining budgets, ship dates and established measurable as well as a conduit of information between company disciplines and leaders. *Taught, initiated and promoted lean manufacturing principals increasing overall operational availability to greater than 85% Niemiec con't: *Increased profitability through quick change over, scrap reduction, improved quality, revised value stream mapping *Coordinated TPM system in collaboration with maintenance and engineering improving uptime *Improved quality because of increased employee accountability, mistake proofing, standardized work *Developed through quality QS certification and problem solving programs *Worked together with Production/Inventory control reducing WIP to less than 2 days inventory levels *Instituted 5-S/ visual management program introduced Kanban systems, championed continuous improvement events & Assemble Center $3 Billion division of Alcoa Inc. QS 9000 ISO 14001 International manufacturer of Tier I & II automotive components original equipment after markets and various industrial products applications. Flow Path (Value Stream - Area) Manager 2001 - 2004 Responsible for 24hr/3shift operation - machining robotic welding and assembly final inspection accountable for departmental P&L and safety. Control of budgets/costs directing maintenance machining and assembly process flow of work utilizing necessary equipment manpower and materials as directed by company measurable goals and customer requirements within Lean Manufacturing JIT environment.
