ADCs Electronics Integrated Product Team Leader (IPT) - Advanced Baseline Imager (GOES ABI, NASA/NOAA) * Led a team of Senior Electrical Engineers at SBRS to arrive at technical consensus and a cost-effective architecture for a Space Instrument which consisted of twenty-six Trade Studies that included Data Rate, Fire Detection channel, Spacecraft Interface Protocol/High Speed Data Transmission Bus (Spacewire) and Data Compression Studies (JPEG). Requirements analysis and allocation, design synthesis, risk analysis, and trade-off studies. The Program included eight Progress Reviews, a Mid Term Review, a Delta Mid Term Review and a Final Program Design and Cost Review (FPDCR). * Participated in all twenty-six Trade Studies and Reviews and as the primary presenter for electrical and electronics subsystem to NASA. Led several of the Trade Studies and was part of the core leadership team that evaluated and developed the final design and specifications. Major accomplishments included a study of the implementation of a separate method of remote sensing of Fire, electronics partitioning of hardware/software architecture trade-offs, detailed trade study of High Speed Data Buses (1553B, IEEE-1355+LVDS, IEEE-1394, I2C) evaluating data rate, radiation hardening, EMI performance, fault tolerance capabilities and error handling. * Designed Primary & Redundant Power Buses, Spacecraft interface, Command and Data Handling (C&DH), ROIC architecture for 3 Focal Plane Arrays (FPGAs) interfacing with Analog Conditioning Electronics (ACE) and Main Digital Electronics Module. * Investigated Spacewire technology development domestically and internationally working with several Universities and Aerospace Agencies. Located and worked with a European Aerospace Company on modifications to specifications and this Aerospace Company was selected as a supplying sub- contractor of this technology to Raytheon and NASA. * Led the trade studies for Radiation Hardened Single Board Computers, A/D Converters and Power Supplies, prepared final product specifications for selected products. Developed an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for GOES ABI Electrical and Electronics from start of contract to Proto-Flight Model and submitted to NASA. DACs and PLLs. Designed multiple Phase-Locked-Loops and synthesizers in the range of
