Accomplishments * Reduced down time by 10% and rejects by 15% by implementing six sigma methodologies in developing a materials work flow process (IPS). * As the safety manager, I evaluated and analyzed accident frequency, root cause data, accident reports, safety survey reports, unit operations, and other activities having a direct impact on accident prevention, and I directed countermeasure programs to correct unsafe procedures or conditions. As a result, the recordable rate was reduced from 10.9 to 1.0 during a calendar year (IPS). * Reduced shipment errors by implementing a random auditing program at 10% of total outbound orders resulting in a 5% accuracy improvement (Caterpillar). * Led 3 successful kaizen events (5S implementation, materials flow, line balance reduction) thereby improving efficiency and effectiveness across departments (Carrier). * Supervised a staff of 45 providing training in OSHA regulations, process management, ISO 9001 / 14001, and the JDE truck parts inventory management system (Volvo). * Controlled $1M in annual capital and a $3M operating budget generating reports regarding variances, financial, supply chain, transportation, warehouse capacity analysis, and monthly territory / delivery / routing status (Volvo).
