Profile: I am a professional United Nations freelance translator and interpreter of English to Arabic and Arabic to English, and I have working knowledge of both French and Spanish. I have just finished translating the US courts glossary of legal terms into Arabic and I am working on a supplement to the glossary. During my employment as a UN senior translator I have acquired extensive experience in data recording, archiving, and terminology retrieving. My translation experience encompasses a wide variety of legal, economic scientific and technical disciplines including among other things international law, international humanitarian law, law of the sea, international space law, rights of women, rights of children and persons with disabilities Rome statute of the international criminal court as well as documents dealing with the economic, financial and social fields. I was deployed on translation/interpretation assignments to Iraq with UNSCOM's UN teams to investigate Iraq's illicit missile, chemical, biological and nuclear programs. I provided interpretation services in various formats to international conferences simultaneous, consecutive and at sight. On the other hand, my assignments with MINURSO teams to the Western Sahara has broadened my social and cultural scope. I have a (BA, English) from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt a (BA, History) from Cairo University, Egypt, and a two year post graduate studies in ancient history from the Institute of African Studies, Cairo, Egypt. I am also a writer of several books one of them: "Arabic synonyms and antonyms pocket dictionary (book number 01 D120218) 'Libraire du Liban, Beyrouth, Lebanon' has been particularly useful to UN translators and interpreters alike.
