- In charge of conversing with my direct supervisor (GF) and other Supervisor's (not limited, but including Superintendent and Estimator) with regards to current job (s) I am working and future work. Directing a crew of 3-4 hands to gather materials, tools, and equipment needed for each specific task and job. Reviewing the Scope of Work with my superiors and crew afterwards in order to gather the most efficient way to complete each project/job. Completing Job Dailies at the end of every day updating the status of the project/job. Red Lines to the prints after completion to submit to the Utilities and for invoicing and updating their records. Keeping track of Job Hazard Analysis before the start of each day reviewing the safety concerns and hazards associated with the tasks and reviewing them with the crew before the start of the day. Work and operate equipment (excavators, mini-excavators, plows, drop plows, chain trenchers, dozers, backhoes, skid steer) on the job as well acting as a part of the crew to assist in the steady productivity in our daily job tasks. Climb poles and perform necessary tasks required for aerial construction as needed per the scope of work. Journeyman Lineman (inr) install & repair technician (acs) alaska communications systems january 2012 - march 2012 Short call through Norcon General Contractor to ACS for an Installer and Repair Technician to install pair bonded modems and repairs to straight line and cutting out "bridge" for increased bandwidth and performance on Twisted Pair Copper Plant. Trouble shoot Twisted Pair Copper and Fiber Optic Cable through straight line on both Aerial and Underground Construction at Distribution and Feed pedestals and Cross Connect Cabinets and N.I.D. on the house and business Using the TDR (Time Domain Reflectometer) to find "bridge tap" and "opens" and voltage for troubles with the Twisted Pair Copper Cables and trace out the problems to fix and use the OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) in order to test Fiber Optic Cables and find Db loss and trace out the problems in order to fix/replace cable runs. Work with customers (both at the house and in the business) in order to fix their Internet and phone service for the Utility company and maintain a good relationship with the customer and Utility. Climb poles to get into Access Boots and Slick Enclosures and work with Cable Maintenance as well as Splicing Departments in order to fix the problem for long-term maintenance if needed.
