Very sound knowledge about the following: * Applies DRG requirement to accomplish appropriate coding to reflect accurate CMI. * Query physician for clarification and specificity of documentation . * Consult physician adviser when indicated by reviewing results and or query response. * Review documentation for core measure standards and confer with health care team. * Identify major complications and co-morbid conditions along with co-existing conditions. * Confer with coding staff to review appropriate DRG and completeness of documentation * Review RAC targeted DRG's, post discharge prior to final coding and doing appeal for denial chart * Proficiency in EPIC CERNER, MEDHOST, 3M360 Encoder AND JATA * Strong experience in establishing, hiring, training and supervising new CDI specialist for Clinical Documentation Department at Western Arizona Regional Medical Center, Tomball Regional Medical Center and Longview Regional Medical Center Applies DRG requirement to accomplish appropriate coding to reflect accurate CMI.
