SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS Brian Gerlach has over 25 years of professional construction and engineering experience on over 100 traditional Design/Bid/Build (DBB), Design/Build (DB), and Engineer/Procure/Construct (EPC) projects and programs totaling over $40-billion (USD). Mr. Gerlach has extensive experience and expertise in project and program management with a special emphasis on project control functions. He has worked with numerous government agencies in various capacities, and has been assigned to projects all over the Western Hemisphere including: transportation/heavy civil projects (Roads, bridges, mass transit, and parking structures), industrial (Energy recovery plants, and steel mills), commercial (Hi-rise, and other buildings), institutional, municipal, transmission and distribution, and others. Mr. Gerlach was named "Project Controls Manager of the Year" by a former employer, and has received numerous awards and designations for outstanding service and contributions throughout his career. He has also been a special guest lecturer at the University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University. In 2003, he was selected to be a member of the first beta test group (1 of the first 14 people world-wide) for the Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) certification test by the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International (AACEI), the first professional organization to certify planning and scheduling professionals. He has prepared professional papers and presentations for owners, subcontractors, government entities, sureties, and the legal community covering a variety of project management topics including: construction claims, document control, project scheduling, project controls and other subjects. In 2002, Mr. Gerlach prepared the CPM construction specification that is still in use by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) for projects over $100-million (USD). In 2008 - 2009, he developed the master work breakdown structure (WBS), chart of accounts, master coding structure, and CPM scheduling specification utilized by the District of Columbia Department of Transportation (DDOT), and has developed numerous project control systems, processes, and training materials for more than 20 projects or programs in excess of $100-million (USD). He has the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and has excellent written and verbal communication skills. Mr. Gerlach's responsibilities included profit and loss results the design of custom homes and renovations negotiating and closing home sales building client rapport and referrals simultaneously managing the overall construction operation of multiple residential construction projects including: permitting preparing initial cost estimates and setting up project budgets planning work activities scheduling subcontractors ordering & expediting materials holding and attending various meetings pricing and negotiating change orders analyzing productivity generating progress billings field engineering quality control interpreting & complying with plans & specifications identifying out-of- scope work and closing out projects. He was also responsible for developing raw land for future subdivisions and development listing
