Highlights:
•The first successful managed care integration into workers’ compensation – hailed by the Nevada Legislature as cutting edge which drove major reforms in the workers’ compensation laws in the early to mid 1990’s
•The first use of technology by using a Lotus based program called the Nevada Health Information System (NIMS), this decreased the time of a medical claim from 45 days to less than 21 days, and ultimately to 14 days
•Repackaged workers’ compensation as a “benefit” and promoted the new program as part of the company benefit package
•Provided simple questions and answers in a benefit package on work comp, that was given to employees when they reported an on the job injury
•On the steering committee for the Nevada Self-Insurers Association which has celebrated its 25th year in 2006
•Formation of the Nevada Chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS)
•On the steering committee for the Southern Nevada Compensation Association (SNCA)
•Charter board member of the State of Nevada owned Jean Hanna Clark Rehab Facility
•The first Mississippi client of Corvel’s TPA program, which has become one of Corvel’s most successful programs
•Implemented the $afety Pay$ system in management training on risk management
