Description
COVER LETTER: attached following resume on page 2 Executive Profile To whom it may concern , I am writing this cover letter to primarily address the obvious attention-getting gaps in my resume. Firstly, Concerning my unemployment since 2016. I was laid off from Cott Beverages last year due to the plant fiscal constraints and changes in management. Following my lay off, I took some time off and completed a personal project. I then had to go out of state and handle the many issues involved with the care of a terminally ill mother. This included preparing for and the sale of her estate, and relocating and establishing her care and residence in Florida. In July of this year I began the process of finding employment. This has proved to be a more difficult process than expected. I have repeatedly gone through the interviewing process with very interested prospective employers only to be denied when it becomes known I am on the back side of 50 years old so, I want to make this known up front. I also want to assure you that I have a lot to contribute in dedication, energy and experience I have plenty of "gas left in this tank, " so to speak. A reference check from the Plant Manager and HR Manager at Cott Beverages, and other previous employers, will establish my character and what I will bring to the table. Secondly, concerning my being self-employed from 2007 - 2011 At this time my wife desired to go back to work after years of home schooling our four boys so, I agreed to finish the process. During this time their educational development was in large part self-teaching. This allowed me time to have flexible time to run a home-repair and improvement business. Again, I believe I have much to contribute to any organization willing to give me the opportunity. Thank you for your consideration. Kurt Hedstrom
