ACCOMPLISHMENTS Positions: * Project & Coordination Lead for Engineering of Process Plant (Refinery), and Environmental Assessment (Environmental Regulatory Approvals) for the Project (Yancoal Canada Resources Co.), including integration of all Infrastructure (Power, 160 MW Cogen Plant, Gas, Telecom, Water, Roads, Port Development and Railway Line). Project revenue was approximately $3.6 Billion for "Greenfield" Potash project. * Project Services and Engineering Manager for K+S Potash Canada. Project revenue was approximately $4.1 Billion for a "Greenfield" Potash Fertilizer that has transitioned from construction to operations. * Chief Project Engineer for Rio Tinto-Energy & Minerals with an annual portfolio ranging up to $500M for multi-discipline capital projects like Buildings, Earth Works, Civil & Steel Structures, Roads Development, Electrical System Upgrades (High & Low Voltage). Tasks: * Implementation of Engineering Information Management Systems (e.g., AVEVA). * Developed "5-Year Capital Plan" for Major and Sustaining Capital Projects of $500M, including Wellfield Development Program, which received Board approval, and aligned master schedule of capital program with long-term plan. * Developed the Project Management System including Framework, Project Management Plans (PMP), Risk Management Plans & Risk Registry, and execution plans like Engineering, Construction, Procurement and HSE Execution Plans for Major Projects. * Lead the engineering and project team (s) to: set design criteria, review and approval of designs, multi-discipline specifications, piping and instrumentation drawing (P&IDs), process flow diagrams (PFDs), technical decisions records, and ensure use of applicable codes and standards, as well as managed any design changes for Green and Brown field projects. * Managed Value Engineering Workshops using appropriate techniques, reducing project cost from 20-40% without compromising any constraint of the project, including design specifications. * Development & Implementation of strategic plan of K+S Operations to align with K+S Corporate Plan as part of an Operations Management Team. * Developed and Implemented "Operation Readiness Program" for Greenfield project with Production, Wellfield, Maintenance and other support functions of the organization. * Planned and developed integrated teams (Owner-Contractor), built team alignments/interfaces, facilitated interdisciplinary co-operation, and optimized project delivery processes. * Successfully managed and delivered an annual projects portfolio of up to $500 Millions for Rio Tinto-Energy & Minerals Canada. * Integrated and Implemented Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Plans during engineering and construction phases of projects to meet program/projects and company HSE targets. * Development and Implementation of project/program management methodologies (Work Breakdown Structure [WBS], Top Down/Bottom Up methods, planning and monitoring, Change management, Scope management, Cost control) and practices (Earned Value calculations, Cost Performance index and Schedule Performance Index [CPI/SPI], reporting).
