Description
During the past three years with Alion Technology (under new EPA – ESAT contract), I further expanded my vast experience in both field and in-house chemistry. My duties included supporting the Field Equipment Center (FEC), involved also in the FEC’s operations in load-ins/ load-outs for field programs, and in performing as an integral part of the field teams involving these sampling programs - collections and on-site field chemistry. Also further note, I possess a total of thirteen years under EPA – ESAT contracts performing EPA approved methods for the extraction of organic constituents of environmental concern in both New England (EPA Region 1) and recently in Athens, GA (EPA Region 4). I possess over twelve years of experience in performing peer review of Gas Chromatography (GC), Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS), and Dioxin data package reviews along with write-ups of reports. In addition, I have well over twenty years of analytical experience in multiple environmental fields to include supervising and performing a wide variety of EPA approved methods for the determination of organic constituents by GC and GC/MS; In addition, I performed multiple wet-chemistry methods for determination both inorganic & organic constituents by titrimetric analysis, colorimetric methods, Infrared (IR) spectroscopy, Atomic Absorption (AA), Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP), and High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) by EPA and other analytical methods. Also I have experience in performing stack testing, fugitive emission testing, and air monitoring testing along with on-site field GC analyses for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from my employment at two different New England environmental firms. Also, I had been tasked to package waste samples and chemicals that had expired for proper waste disposal in several of my prior job experiences. Furthermore and note, I had maintained and I am current with the OSHA 40 – Hour HAZWOPER, the annual 8 – hour refresher training, along with being currently certified with both first aid training and CPR from the Red Cross; all programs have been kept current over the last twenty plus years in each employment. I also possess excellent working skills/ experience in the full range of Microsoft suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access database program, several computer software programs operations in instrumentation, such as HP CHEM Station software, Turbo Chrom for GC & HPLC software, laboratory information management system (LIMS) database, Garmin and Trimble application software for locating using the global positioning system (GPS) in mapping sampling points on maps software. Also, note all my jobs required me to be an aware of quality, safety, and project cost oriented employee. Furthermore, I was and I am a diligent, self motivated, and focus tasked worker requiring very little supervision.
