Description
after Monitor oil, gas, and water processes and equipment to optimize and improve efficiency. 1. Natural gas fueled reciprocating and turbine compressors Reviewed operating data and reloaded compressors as necessary. 2. Triethylene glycol dehydration systems 3. MDEA sour gas treating system. 4. Sour oil stabilizing unit. * Consult with and provide guidance to field operations personnel. Assist with new process startups, operator training, and process optimizations, problems, procedures, and problems. * Keep informed of the latest developments in the chemical and process technology throughout the industry and within the company's research organizations. Recommend applications as appropriate. * Develop process designs for new facilities and modifications for existing facilities. * Review operating data, observe chemical and process operations, and evaluate for optimum efficiency. Develop and recommend procedural and process changes as required. * Handle special projects as required Accomplishments: Facility Engineering Safety Team -Worked with 3rd party contractors to improve their safety performance. * Bay Marchand Acid Oil Project - Determined from which areas and reservoirs the high acid oils were being produced and presented data to management for review. * Bay Marchand Produced Water Pilot Project - Produced water pits were being closed by the state. Determined whether produced water could be used to water flood the current reservoirs and be expanded to future reservoirs. * Bay Marchand Yankee Structure Upgrade Team - Reviewed present facilities and determined what equipment could be used and which had to be upgraded to increase the water flood potential from 13,000 BWPD to 30,000 BWPD. * Main Pass Block 41 CO2 Flood Team - Determined the feasibility of using waste CO2 from Pascagoula Refinery to flood three reservoirs in the MP Block 41 field. Determined the compression, dehydration, and pumping requirements for the project. * a fire destroyed the station. Assisted with timing of gas lift valves to optimize field production. * Redesigned compressor station at Timbalier Bay field improving fuel savings by $500,000/yr. Redesigned Solar Saturn compression station at Timbalier Bay field to act as 3rd stage to reciprocating compressors lowering backpressure on reciprocating compressors and increasing throughput by 20%. Helped write source code for PLC controllers for compressors and yard valve activation. * Redesigned compression configuration to achieve lower suction pressure therefore lowering the system backpressure in the Bay Marchand field. * Redesigned DEA unit to use MDEA to allow CO2 slippage and increase throughput by 25%. * Optimized the sour oil stabilizing unit to maintain oil product to have less than 1 ppm H2S. * Wrote and maintained computer programs for functional group. Have written / co-authored / revised at least fifteen programs (four of which are compressor related).
