Daily Duties at Chevron Usa, Inc. :

Offshore well site supervisor is responsible for daily management of rig or non rig offshore well drilling, completion, work-over, intervention and abandonment. Daily duties include rig and contract personnel supervision, implementation of company safety policies,execution of planned well work operations, compliance with regulations and associated reports (rig inspections, discharge monitoring, , management of unplanned events (well control, fire, collision, etc,).Daily reporting of operations, and accrual of daily costs. Remedial Engineer is responsible for planning and managing all well activities NOT requiring a drilling rig. Commonly 8-15 operations were being undertaken simultaneously across 5 states. This included completions, cased hole work-overs, planned fishing jobs, fracture stimulation, acid stimulation , coil tubing clean outs, snubbing operations, cased hole logging, hot tap operations, cased hole well control, Duties included daily communication with well site supervisors and assuring accurate operations & cost reports. Daily briefing of management, production operations and regulatory groups. Scheduling of well supervisors. Performance review of well supervisors. Land work-over supervisor. Implemented projects as part of the remedial group. Duties included: implementing safety policy, executing work procedure, supervision of rig and service crews, management of well site logistics, approving and accruing daily costs, reporting daily operations & costs to remedial engineer, conferring with remedial engineer, advising and assisting field production operations. Land drilling supervisor. Supervised drilling operations. Duties included: safety assurance, executing drilling procedure. managing rig crews, well site service providers, timely logistics management, daily operations and cost approval and reporting, consultation with drilling superintendent, well control. Land Drilling Engineer responsible for preparing and implementing drilling programs. Included duties: Secure permitting, understand and plan well based on known geology. Design casing program. Directional plan. Secure pricing for services, rig and materials. Prepare cost estimate. With geologist, prepare presentation to management for approval. Prepare logistics plan for well to assure timely delivery of services. Verify location from surface survey. Review and correct reporting and costs. Prepare overrun estimates. Create contingencies for unplanned operations.
