I take pride in doing quality work; I'm consistent, have excellent troubleshooting skills, and think fast on my feet when needed; my organizational skills are very strong. I have attended several years of college, including nursing school, though I did not complete my degree. My main area of educational interest has always been biological sciences and medicine. My work experience covers phlebotomy, phlebotomy supervision and teaching, Emergency Care Tech in a free-standing emergency clinic, specimen processing in clinical laboratory and my current position as a cytoprep tech. Highlights:

I have completed the ASCP Cytoprep course with 100% scores on all exams. I served as proctor in 2008 for the cytotechnologists and cytopathologists taking the annual competency exam. I have set up two outpatient FNA clinics from scratch for our pathologists without supervision.

I work with virtually no supervision in the cytology laboratory as the only full time prep technician; I'm responsible for maintianing all of the equipment and troubleshooting when there are problems. Customer service is paramount and I provide that directly to patients as well as clinics. I also assist in the formation of new procedures and protocols for laboratory tests. I now also assist in Surgical Pathology / Histology in accessioning and assessment of specimen acceptability.
