Description
Carlton J Allen 320 S. Steckel Dr. Apt B Santa Paula CA 93060 | 559-805-0531 | carltonja3@aol.com October 18, 2016 I have been a traveling Superintendent for nearly 20 years. With that said, the experience has been very educational and successful. I have worked on numerous military bases building everything from A-Z. For example: Monterey Post Naval School Energy Conservation Project Seismic Upgrade and Retrofit, Monterey Presidio 3 story Barracks Ground Up, DORM Project(classified), Monterey United States Marine Corp Meteorology Project (`shotcrete structure), China Lake Weapons Facility, Michaelson Lab Upgrade Seismic Retrofit, Explosive Disassembly Lab with Historical Preservations, Michaelson Lab Energy Conservation Project, Explosive Laboratory Class 3, Burn Laboratory Ground Up and other Classified Projects. I have lived all over the state of California. Monterey 5 years off and on. San Francisco for 5 years. In San Francisco, I ran all the Company?s Projects from Oakland to Santa Cruz. At the height of it all, it may have been up to 20 projects at a time. At the midpoint doing fire and seismic retrofit to 611 Folsom 25th street Mission district and Bush Street all San Francisco, we lost our onsite night superintendent on ATT call center Oakland. I had to replace him with myself which caused me to work 23 hours a day for 4 days a week for almost a month to complete the project. I have done nearly a dozen helicopter lifts, once on a weapons laboratory. There was a months? worth of meetings held with the Base Commander and all the Brass and needing a lot of security clearances to complete this task. I have read all of California Title 24 from the 90?s to present day except for the electrical and green code. I have read all of Los Angeles building codes and EM385. I have a link to ICC for quick references to CSR reports and I can tell you why all anchors changed in the early to mid-2000s due to new structural calculations to cracked and uncracked concrete. I also know why all the shearing requirements changed due to the Los Angeles Earthquake. I take my job very seriously, I read every single specification at least 3 times. I tab the book like it is a favorite cookbook for quick references. I read and inspect every single submittal to make sure they are complete and not in conflict. My last project I was the Project Superintendent for Goleta Cottage Hospital. Under this contract I was in charge of: domestic water, waste and vent, medical gas systems, HVAC wet and dry, Building Management System, fuel system for backup generators, site underground. Under this project there was a big failure and we had no working coordination drawings. Under the contract requirements, I had to be the onsite coordinator for all trades to establish pathways without conflict and also onsite engineer to design medical gas rooms, seismic attachments and structural components. Working close with Mason Industry?s Northern California Division Tolco (b-line) (Zubair) for structural design. This is the shortest summary I could come up with for my work history. Sincerely, Carlton J Allen
