this F Human Resources Assistant (This is a federal job) Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills: * Provide ongoing HR services to managers and employees including initiating, tracking and following up on cases and actions to ensure timely completion and regulatory compliance, resolving recurring case specific problems or issues independently when applicable guidelines are available. * Provide guidance on HR matters respond to routine HR inquires actions ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and consistency with merit system principles communicate changes to HR procedures and policies. * Provide basic advice and assistance to management regarding appropriate disciplinary and adverse actions advise managers regarding current TSA policy and procedures assist in preparation of disciplinary/adverse action letters to employees applying knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, case law, principles and practices related to employee conduct, performance, and dispute resolution. * Analyze information related to on-the-job injuries or illnesses provided by supervisors and employees in support of the on-the-job worker's compensation claims acting as a liaison between supervisors and employees to facilitate claims. * Counsel management, employees, and beneficiaries on basic benefit program coverage, options, variances in coverage, and advantages and disadvantages of various types of benefits. * Perform general office duties in support of office staff * Maintain office files and records and * Conduct extensive searches for records utilizing multiple automated systems and databases. * Providing a full range of technical support and supervisory functions for the Human Resources staff to include communicating performance requirements, setting and adjusting priorities and schedules for completion and assigning work to direct reports * Researching and delivering expert level advice to management and staff on Human Resources services and processes to include recruitment, tracking retirements, position management, workforce planning and development, analyzing trends and forecasting changes in workforce requirements as to meet future mission demands * Managing, planning, organizing, and evaluating Human Resources policies and procedures in order to identify and resolve issues as well as furnishing policy guidance, advice, counsel, or instructions to management and staff * Evaluating the work performance of subordinates while coordinating the establishment of unit goals, priorities, and deadlines and identifying ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative services and * Preparing statistical and various reports while completing other duties as required. Preparing reports or other status documents as directed and following up to ensure actions are processed. *Following guidance in relevant Standard Operating Procedures for initiating Requests for Personnel Action and entering information into the workflow system. *Preparing personnel actions associated with the Office of Workers Compensation Program (OWCP) (e.g. termination LWOP light/limited duty). *Providing support of the Office of Human Capital on initiatives such as mass promotion debts schedule changes or performance awards. *Monitoring LWOP-US employees to ensure accurate and timely processing of return to duty or other appropriate personnel actions. *Contacting the service provider to obtain guidance on processing of personnel actions. *Providing guidance to managers and staff regarding actions required and policies to follow to properly staff positions.
