To obtain a position to fulfill my career goals and ambitions, and benefit my employer. I have a magnitude of expertise in the medical field and 30 years in patient/customer service. I can solve issues in a quick and well-mannered way, to benefit the patient, doctor and staff. One of my biggest asset is solving difficult problems in a very professional way. I have worked in management for 20 years. Which gives me the benefit to be cross trained to step into any position of the office including management, to keep the office running smoothly. I enjoy working with the patients to keep them informed on their situation, and at ease for their surgery. I would like to use my experience in your company/practice. I am a team player and a motivated trainer. Please find listed the majority of my abilities that I can bring to you, as my employer. Gainesville Eye Physicians: Gainesville, Florida- Feb. 14, 2013 to present Billing Specialist & Asstant Surgery Coordinator - Post and reconcile insurance and patient's payments. Research and resolve incorrect payments, EOB rejections, and other issues with outstanding accounts. Accounts of 90 days and over are my specialty. For example, with timely filing denials, I have a 90% collection rate. Correcting and rebill modifiers, verify correct ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding, billed errors from office staff data entry. I have trained staff on proper and important information needed to process claims with no delay in payments. Complete knowledge of Avality, and Medical Manager, and various other programs from Pfizer as well as other pharmaceutical companies. I am quick to learn any computer program your office uses. Pre-authorizations, research accounts and insurance claims that have been denied. Post and reconcile insurance payments, bill on HCFA 1500 and submit electronic claims to clearing house. Bill secondary insurance and work with law firms on auto and workers comp accounts. With the doctor's approval, I trained the employees of front check out to catch "I can't pay" patients. I set up a payment plan for the patients who could not pay as they checked out, having the patient come to my office and sign a contract. This procedure was very effective. On my own, I started researching and learning ICD-10 before it was mandatory. I understand the mapping of ICD-10. Ophthalmology is the field I originally taught myself, however I continue with studying the mapping and I completely understand how ICD-10 works, and I think it is well thought out for the patient's wellbeing to get proper diagnoses. I am cross trained to work every station in a doctor or chiropractic practice. I was trained as the assistant surgery coordinator to back up surgery coordinator with over flow of patients and to fill in for the surgery coordinator while she was on vacation or out of the office. I coordinated with the surgery center to ensure all the doctor's orders were correct and signed prior to surgery. The surgeries I know for ophthalmology are cataracts, retina, plastic, Lens x, and anything that was ordered by the doctor. I preauthorized my surgery patients as needed, to ensure it was correct.
