ELECTRICAL * ELECTRONIC * ENVIRONMENTAL FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION, DFW International Airport, Texas 4/14 - Present Airway Transportation Systems Specialist (ATSS) * Electronic Repair/Maintenance: As a Certified ATSS, I install, troubleshoot, test, repair, and maintain high voltage, critical power supply systems to support daily operations of the National Airspace System (NAS)) located at one of the nation's largest international airports. Continually test, inspect, and certify operations of electronic equipment and lighting aids required to support aviation navigation in such a way that ensures reliable, safe, and smooth flow of air traffic. Maintain high voltage, critical power systems to support radar, communications, automation, and navigational aids within the NAS network. Maintain diesel engine backup power systems which will activate automatically when commercial power systems may fail. * HVAC: Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain standard and large capacity commercial HVAC systems, including air handlers, compressors, motors, wiring, and filters. Set up, program, and maintain automated operating systems for HVAC systems to achieve designated temperature and humidity standards. Maintain associated equipment, including boilers, chillers, and related electronic control systems. * Training/Staff Development: Selected by management to train new-hire ATSS personnel in operational policies and procedures for equipment handling, maintenance, and safety. * Certifications: Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) o Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) Voltage Capacity: 480VAC, SwitchGear, and Transfer Switches Environmental Protection Agency (EPA): o Universal Certification (CFC Recovery) * Security Clearance: Secret.
