Responsibilities as a Retention Specialist include taking inbound calls from Insureds and Agents, answer their questions on the renewal process and explain how the renewal increase was determined and why. Also responsible for looking outside the box and try to quote other policies and offer any other type of plans to save the business. Also responsible to contact agents on a monthly basis and try to help them retain the business as their customers are renewing. Responsible for solving any problems and follow up to make sure things have been done and customer is satisfied.Handle all cancellation request, contact the insured to find out the reason why they are cancelling and see if the policy can be saved. Work as part of a team, that is responsible for maintaining the business and also keep track of the reason we are losing business. Retention team is currently in charge of Medical, Dental, Life, Long Term Disability, etc. companies. I recently obtained gift card for saving the most policies and a special company wide recognition for saving a 88 employee dental plan.I'm very much a team player and love the challenge of helping and educating the client and saving the business at the same time.I just finished the 40 HR. course for Life, Health and Annuities and will be taking the Florida State Exam for 2-15 license.
